Product Description

Fold-out brochure for the October 1973-May 1974 "Mexico & Party Cruising" sailings aboard the P&O ship Spirit of London. The brochure includes descriptions of the ship and ports of call, sailing schedules and room rates. deck plans, and general info.

The brochure is in excellent condition.

Interesting fact #1 about this ship: it was originally ordered by Norwegian Caribbean Line from a shipbuilder in 1970 and named the Seaward but the shipbuilder was sold before it was finished and P&O bought the unfinished hull from NCL. The ship was an identical sistership to the NCL ship Southward but P&O added a different funnel. 1973/74 was the only year the ship sailed under the P&O flag. The ship was transferred to Princess in 1974 when P&O bought princess and renamed the Sun Princess. In 1988 the ship was sold to Premier Cruises and renamed the Starship Majestic. Premier sold the ship in 1994 and it passed through several owners over the years before finally sinking in 2016.Interesting fact #2 about this ship: a 1975 Columbo episode named "Troubled Waters" was filmed mainly on the ship, and the ship also made appearances in a 1975 Starsky and Hutch episode, the original Love Boat movie, and in the 1980 movie Herbie Goes Bananas.
